The other day I was out in my yard.. busy trying to get some yard
work done.. Not an easy task cause it so darn HOT.
Yes I am whining. When is fall going to get here?
Anyway back to my story.. I was busy trimming some bushes and something
Very Big Jump out at me. So I Screamed till I found out what it was..
A praying Mantis.. It was the Biggest one I had seen..
So I yelled for hubby to get my camera.. I should have know to take my camera out
to do yard work, what was I thinking..
Well by the time hubby got my camera he was long gone!
So I continued on with my yard work. Thinking bad things about my hubby
cause he wasn't fast enough with my camera. And I look down and something
was looking right back at me.. It wasn't the same praying Mantis.
This was just a little guy..
He was tucked way down in a bush so it was hard to get a shot..
I had to hold the branch with one hand and take the photo with the other..
But I did get some shots.. And he didn't run!!
Just in case my hubby reads this.. I really wasn't that mad at you..
Hee Hee..
These thing were growing right in the middle of our palm tree..
I wonder if you can eat them. I don't think I will give it a try!!
I hope you are having a wonderful week so far..
And I want to say THANK YOU so much for all your kind comments.
I really do appreciate them so much..
Hugs, Linda
you find it, so cute and nice
ReplyDeleteVery nice images, I especially love the one of the praying mantis is in silhouette.
ReplyDeleteAmazing series of photos! I would have jumped through the roof if one of those had jumped at me!
ReplyDeleteOh your praying mantis photos are just beautiful, especially the silhouette, he looks sort of 'regal'. The little green pods are gorgeous too with their gnarly tendrils.
ReplyDeletei like the silhouette shot! :)
ReplyDeleteI was hoping you weren't going to say a "spider" jumped out. I don't think I could look at your pictures then. You know how I am! I love the shots you got of the praying mantis. I think they are sort of cute actually. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the story and images of the praying mantis, especially that shot that he was praying!
ReplyDeleteLinda, your photography is spectacular! I could spend hours and hours looking back through your 365 project. Soooooo beautiful! I'm smacking my forehead right now, that I've never been to this blog.... always in the Happy Place, LOL!! This is most certainly a happy place as well. Thanks for sharing your talent. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat photos. I was hoping you weren't going to say you saw a spider or a snake :)
ReplyDeleteLOL! Great pics. Husbands are never fast enough. :)
ReplyDeletethat would have completely freaked me out! so glad you managed to find him again and take these amazing shots!
ReplyDeleteYou got some fantastic shots Linda!
ReplyDeleteI have not seen one of these little guys in a very long time.
Neat. I saw one on our second story window yesterday. I was hanging outside trying to get the shot, then I had a change of heart and decided to play it safe. I didn't get my pictures, but he was fun to watch all at the same time. It's neat how their heads move the way they do. The silhouette one is my favorite. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat serie of pictures.
